Getting Started
1) Set up camera, tripod, lights and scene.
2) Start AnimAide XT. To create a new project select menu File > New Project. You will be asked to
choose a folder where the images will be captured into.

Setting the CameraDSC (Digital Still Camera)
Connect the USB cable to the computer from digital still camera. It is best to use an AC adapter to power your camerathan to drain your batteries. Your camera may get hot from long use. Some cameras won't deactivate their flash. A work around is to cover the flash with black electrical tape.
Also, some cameras adjust their lens before shooting which will wear your lens motor. Use a camera that you can manually control that will allow you to turn off the auto-focus. Select menu Options > Camera Type > DSC (still)
DV (Digital Video)
Connect the Firewire to the computer from digital video camera. Start AnimAide XT. To create a new project select menu File > New Project. You will be asked to choose a folder where the images will be captured into. Select menu Options > Camera Type > DV (video).
You should see a live view from the camera in the main view. Go to the preferences in the Application menu. Selectthe video tab. Here you may set the resolution for the camera and the image format for saving images.

Begin Capturing
To capture images, do one of the following :
- press the Remote Capture button on toolbar or the hotkey set for remote capture
- use the Remote Clapper with a microphone
- use another frame capturing software to capture frames and download them to the project folder
- use the built-in Applescript automation
- use a custom Applescript
5) Save project file when finished shooting.This will hold your current captured images.
Note: Opening your saved project file the next time you work will load faster than creating a new project. Double-click on the project file to start next time.
